Polish Catholic leader to suspend anti-migrant priests
The leader of Poland's Catholic Church has said he will suspend any priest who takes part in anti-migrant demonstrations.
Archbishop Wojciech Polak told a Roman Catholic magazine that if priests explicitly support one side in a conflict, he would need to act immediately.
His comments have attracted scorn on social media from conservatives.
Several recent surveys have shown that the majority of Poles are opposed to allowing refugees to settle in their country.
The country's Prime Minister, Beata Szydlo, has refused to be "blackmailed" by the European Union into accepting thousands of asylum seekers under a quota system.
