Search for McVeigh body to go on

McVeigh Dig Search to continue over weekend

Gardaí have called off the search tonight in the hunt for the remains of Columba McVeigh.

The dig in a Co Monaghan bog will resume again tomorrow morning at 8.30am, and is set to continue through the weekend.

The dig began on Monday and it had been hoped to conclude it by this evening.

Columba McVeigh was kidnapped and killed by the IRA in 1975.
