Chelsea have finally accepted defeat in their bid to get Italian striker Pierluigi Casiraghi back to full fitness. The 31-year-old played just 10 games for the club before suffering a horrific knee injury which has seen him undergo a total of 10 operations. Chelsea chairman Ken Bates has confirmed the club have been over £4m in compensation which will mean the Italian can't play top-level football again.
