Beyoncé has become the latest celebrity to show her support for Britain's Duchess of Sussex following her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In the explosive interview in which Meghan Markle was joined by husband Prince Harry, the couple alleged there had been a racist comment about their one-year-old son, Archie, and the Duchess spoke of the mental health crisis she experienced while in the royal family in the UK.

Showing her support for Meghan Markle, Beyoncé shared a picture of their meeting at the 2019 European premiere of The Lion King on the frontpage of her website.

"Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership," she wrote. "We are all strengthened and inspired by you."

Buckingham Palace issued a statement on Tuesday, saying: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."

Other stars to show support for Meghan Markle include Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock and tennis champion Serena Williams.
